AMERICUS, Ga. – A quick start and solid finish led the No. 22 University of North Georgia men's basketball team to a 75-66 victory over Georgia Southwestern.
Case Roach scored a career-high 16 points in the road Peach Belt Conference victory, and
Frank Champion registered his sixth double-double of the season, finishing with 22 points and 12 rebounds.
AJ White and
Hunter Shedenhelm added 12 points each. White did most of his damage from behind the arc, making three of his five attempts. Champion led defensively for the Nighthawks getting two blocks and two steals. The win was North Georgia's seventh in a row and tenth overall, moving them to 10-1 on the season and 3-0 in PBC play.

- GSW began to chip away at the lead, getting it to as close as six with 5:25 remaining in the game. North Georgia would not allow them any closer and ended the game with a nine-point victory.

The Nighthawks look to continue their momentum when they head to Lander (9-3, 1-1 PBC) to face the Bearcats on the road. The game is scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. tip-off on Saturday (Jan. 7th). The Bearcats are coming off an 83-70 loss at the hands of USC Aiken. Both programs split last season, with each winning their game at home.
