Nighthawks Come Up Short in Young Harris Loss

DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia men's soccer team dropped a 2-0 Peach Belt Conference decision to visiting Young Harris this evening at the UNG Soccer Field at Lynn Cottrell Park. The match is the first of the first two meetings this season between the two schools.

The Nighthawks could not convert their chances on the offensive side, and Young Harris capitalized on two great plays by Sacha DeCorte, which was the difference in the end. Both YHC goals came off corner kicks.

Young Harris controlled the ball on the offensive end throughout, but neither team was able to dominate the possession throughout. Cooper Bowen and the defense kept the Nighthawks in the game, but Young Harris allowed no room for error and made it count when given the opportunity.

Inside the Box Score
• The three shots on goal matches the second lowest this season.
• The physical contest featured six yellow cards and 27 fouls.

Next Up
The loss brings UNG to 3-4 on the season, and they will look to rebound on the road this weekend against Georgia Southwestern. The Nighthawks lead the all-time series after splitting with the Hurricanes last season.
