DAHLONEGA – Val Angel of the University of North Georgia has been named the Peach Belt Conference's Women's Cross-Country Runner of the Week. Angel blazed through the trail on her way to becoming just the second Nighthawk ever and first since 2014 to win the Individual title at the event.
Recording a time of 18:53, with an average mile time of 6:04.5, Angel led UNG to its second consecutive team title at the event.
Angel is a graduate transfer from Piedmont and comes to UNG as the reigning USA South Conference Champion and was First Team All-Conference last season. Angel was also named this week's Chick-fil-A Nighthawk of the Week for her impressive performance.
Angel and the Nighthawks will next head to the UWG Coach Gary Wilson Invitational at West Georgia for their next race of the season.
