DAHLONEGA - The University of North Georgia (UNG) placed two student-athletes on the Peach Belt Conference Women's Cross Country All-Academic Team, the league announced, as part of the PBC's continued effort to recognize the academic excellence of its student-athletes.
Senior Elizabeth Padilla Brun earned All-Academic Team honors for the second time in her career, while sophomore Aubrey Dishman was recognized as a first-time honoree.
The PBC All-Academic Team, previously known as the Team of Academic Distinction, honors student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence both in competition and in the classroom. To be eligible, nominees must have participated in at least half of their team's events as a starter or significant contributor, hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale, and be at least a sophomore academically and athletically. Transfer student-athletes become eligible immediately upon meeting the criteria. The program is overseen by the conference's sports communications professionals.
With this year's selections, North Georgia has now had multiple student-athletes earn PBC All-Academic Team honors in four consecutive seasons.
