CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The 18th ranked University of North Georgia women's tennis team fell Saturday to Queens, 4-3.
The Royals earned the doubles point, taking the matches on the first and third lines.
Johanna Lippert and
Svetlana Teterina won on the second line by a 6-3 score.
Queens won the match by taking the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4 matches, while Lippert claimed a three-set win on the third line, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1. Claudelle Labonté Frey won at No. 5 in a comeback, 5-7, 6-2, 1-0, and
Cibeles Zuddy won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 6.
North Georgia will be in action again Thursday, March 3, as they take on Wingate on the road. The match was originally scheduled for tomorrow but was rescheduled due to forecasted weather.
