DAHLONEGA - The University of North Georgia men's basketball team used a late run to overtake USC Aiken in come-from-behind fashion, 69-66, Saturday afternoon on Senior Day.
The Nighthawks and Pacers saw no separation through 20 minutes as the score was tied, 30-30, at the break. USC Aiken took the early advantage in the second half, jumping out on a 17-3 run. North Georgia didn't go away, however, staying in the game before finishing the final 5:41 on a 21-5 run to claim the win, taking the lead in the final two minutes with back-to-back buckets from
Giancarlo Bastianoni.
NOTES
- Five Nighthawks ended in double figures, led by
Frank Champion's double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Malik Hardy had 13, Bastianoni and
Kody Shubert had 12 and
Zach Brown added 10.
- UNG honored seniors Brown, Hardy and
Darnell Snyers prior to today's game for their efforts and contributions to the program.
- The win over USCA snaps a seven-game losing skid in the series.

North Georgia will enter the PBC tournament as the No. 7 seed and travel to Flagler Tuesday. Game time will be announced Monday.
