DAHLONEGA - The No. 18 University of North Georgia women's tennis team shut out Brenau Tuesday afternoon, 7-0, at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek.
North Georgia took doubles with a 6-3 win on the top line by
Vaishali Jorge and Claudelle Labonté-Frey and 6-4 wins on the other two lines.
Rafaella Villanueva got singles play off on the right foot with a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 6 singles, followed closely behind by
Johanna Lippert's 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 3.
Anna Markvartova clinched the match on the second line with a 6-1, 6-4 win.
Jorge,
Svetlana Teterina and Labonté-Frey also won their singles matches with the later winning in three sets.
North Georgia will be back in action February 23 as they open Peach Belt play at Augusta. First serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
