Pat Parris Nominated for United Soccer Coaches Board of Directors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - University of North Georgia head men's soccer coach Pat Parris is one of three nominees for the United Soccer Coaches Board of Directors.

"United Soccer Coaches has the opportunity to continue the growth of soccer within our country by furthering coaching education for those in rural areas to bigger population cities," said Parris in his nomination as to why he wants to serve on the Board of Directors. "United Soccer Coaches has the opportunity to pioneer the growth of soccer to where it is not exclusive to those that can afford to play. We are a united front that can transition our soccer structure and positive bridge change within our sport. United Soccer Coaches is the bridge that continues to forge positive relationships for our sport and country. We have the opportunity and foresight to continue breaking down barriers while constructing pathways of success to players, coaches, families, clubs, universities, and professional levels."

Parris has served 15 seasons as head men's soccer coach at UNG, tallying a record of 98-141-21 over his tenure. Parris has also led the Nighthawks to 10 out of the last 11 Peach Belt tournament appearances, including a championship berth in 2017.

Parris has coaching stops at Statesboro High School and served on the Georgia Southern coaching staff prior to coming to UNG. He has trained with the Jamaican National Team as well as played collegiately at Georgia Southern.

The United Soccer Coaches Board of Director election voting opens on January 10, 2022. The voting process is done by a third party service to ensure integrity. Personalized ballots will be sent via email to every full member, in good standing, of United Soccer Coaches on Monday, January 10, 2022.

The Board of Directors is responsible for determining the association's mission and purpose, ensuring effective organizational planning, providing financial oversight, and determining and monitoring United Soccer Coaches programming. Candidates should possess strong leadership and communication skills, the willingness to think critically and share ideas, a passion for serving the association, as well as, qualities, skills, and attributes that strengthen the diversity of the Board of Directors. Candidates must be a current member of the Association.
