YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. - Abbie Franklin surpassed the 500 career assist milestone as the No. 3 University of North Georgia women's basketball team stormed past Young Harris Wednesday night, 69-36.
North Georgia never trailed with the game being tied just once at 3-3. From that point, North Georgia finished the first quarter on a 12-3 run and extended the lead to 41-18 by the end of the half.
UNG held Young Harris to just four third quarter points before the Mountain Lions won the fourth period by a single point.
NOTES
- Franklin is now a member of the 500 assist club and is closing in on the all-time record at North Georgia for career assists currently held by Kim Felton who dished out 523 dimes from 1996-99. She finished Wednesday night with another near triple-double with 14 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

Julianne Sutton had her fifth consecutive double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. It's the longest streak of consecutive double-doubles in her career.

Tija Blackwell was the only other Nighthawk in double figures with 11 points.
- UNG turned over Young Harris 23 times for 27 points.
