SUMTER, S.C. - For the second consecutive year, a University of North Georgia women's tennis doubles team has won the ITA Regional as
Vaishali Jorge and
Johanna Lippert won the Southeast Regional doubles draw Monday morning.
This is the fourth straight year that UNG's women's tennis team has won an ITA Regional in either doubles or singles and the third time a doubles team claimed the top spot. Jorge now has three ITA Regional titles to her name, winning the singles draw in 2019 before her first doubles draw last season with Claudelle Labonte Frey.
Jorge and Lippert took down Newberry's Nastassia Charmoun and Lucy Spice, 8-5, to earn the regional championship.
North Georgia will be back in action this weekend at Mercer.
