SUMTER, S.C. - University of North Georgia men's tennis player
Joaquin Benoit finished as the runner up in the main singles draw of the ITA Regional Monday afternoon.
The sophomore started off the day with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Luka Brown before squaring off with the top seeded Alvaro Regalado from Columbus State. Benoit fought tough with the Cougar, falling 6-4, 6-1 in the final match of the tournament.
Benoit's run to the finals of the main draw is the furthest a Nighthawk has gone in the ITA Regional in program history.
North Georgia will take to the courts again this weekend at Mercer.
