DAHLONEGA - Looking to make a return trip to the NCAA Regional for a fifth straight season, the University of North Georgia women's basketball team has released its schedule of games for the 2021-22 season.
The season kicks off with a preseason exhibition at Georgia State November 1 before the Nighthawks play host to Lees-McRae and Emmanuel in the Peach Belt / Conference Carolinas Challenge November 12-13. After a trip to Benedict November 16, UNG will play host to the annual UNG Nighthawk Classic November 19-20 against Delta State and Montevallo. North Georgia will wrap up November at West Georgia on November 23.
UNG will waste no time getting December underway as they travel to Montevallo December 1 and wrap up the three game road trip at Tusculum a week later. The Nighthawks open Peach Belt play with a pair of games in December, hosting Georgia College December 11 and traveling to Flagler December 17.
North Georgia will begin a four-game homestand with Reinhardt on December 30 before ushering in the 2022 calendar year with games against Benedict (January 2), Georgia Southwestern (January 5) and Lander (January 8) all inside the UNG Convocation Center. UNG will then play at home six more times prior to the Peach Belt Conference Tournament, including a Battle of Blood Mountain matchup with Young Harris on February 16, four days after traveling to Lander.
The Nighthawks have made it to the Sweet 16 in each of the last three NCAA tournaments to be contested.
