CLEVELAND – The Division 2 Athletic Directors Association (D2 ADA) announced the recipients of the 2025-26 D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards, recognizing the academic accomplishments of student-athletes competing in NCAA Division II championship-sponsored sports. The University of North Georgia (UNG) had 60 student-athletes earn the award this year

Now in its 19th year, the Academic Achievement Awards recognized more than 21,000 student-athletes from 179 institutions for their academic achievements during the 2025-26 academic year.

North Georgia was one of eight Peach Belt Conference institutions to receive the award. All 12 of North Georgia's athletic programs were represented among the recipients.

The 60 honorees were led by women's soccer with 14, followed by softball with eight, baseball and women's basketball with five each, women's golf, men's golf and men's soccer with four each, men's tennis, cross country and track & field with three each, and women's tennis and men's basketball with two each.

To be eligible for the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have completed a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college-level work and have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during their last academic year.

The D2 ADA Academic Achievement Awards are presented annually to recognize the academic accomplishments of Division II student-athletes across the country.
