DAHLONEGA - Three long balls and a no-hitter highlighted the day as the top-ranked University of North Georgia softball team swept Augusta in Peach Belt Conference action Monday afternoon.
GAME ONE - #1 UNG 4, AU 0
The Nighthawks pushed a run across in the first inning as 
Margaret Simmons hit a sacrifice fly to deep center field, scoring 
Kaylyn Anthony to give UNG the 1-0 lead. It took until the fourth inning for North Georgia to score again as 
Shelby Hammontree hit a solo homer to double the Nighthawk lead.
The scoring came to a close on a two-run homer from 
Olivia Sinquefield in the fifth inning that scored 
Cheyanne Mosteller, pushing the game to the final 4-0 score line.
Kylee Smith (5-0) threw a no-hitter, fanning a career high 18 batters along the way. She allowed just one walk and a runner reached via error.
GAME TWO - #1 UNG 1, AU 0
A pitcher's duel between 
Laken Chambers and AU's Chloe Wilson commenced with North Georgia scratching a run across on a Simmons solo homer on the first pitch she saw in the fourth inning.
Both teams got runners to second base or further on a pair of occasions, but the opposing pitcher worked out of the jam, keeping the game with just a single run scored.
Chambers (6-0) gave up just three hits, striking out three, while Smith earned her first save of the year, sitting down two Jaguars via strikes.
NOTES
- North Georgia has now won 16 straight against the Jaguars, leading the all-time series, 33-5.
- The Nighthawks are 16-0 on the year, 4-0 in Peach Belt play, after the doubleheader sweep.
