DAHLONEGA - Runs weren't easy to come by, but the No. 22 University of North Georgia baseball team found four in the bottom of the eighth to secure a 5-1 win over Flagler and complete the Peach Belt Conference sweep Saturday.
Neither team was able to find much success against the other's starter with
Parker Morrison and Kyle Morton combining to allow just two runs, both coming in the sixth inning or later. The Nighthawks scored with a leadoff homer by
Tim Conway on the first pitch of the sixth inning. The Saints answered with an unearned run in the top of the seventh on a RBI groundout.
UNG broke the game open in the eighth with RBI singles from
Bill LeRoy and
Jake Howard, bookending a
Nik Levensteins RBI groundout, to round out the scoring.
NOTES
-
Eddie Galatas (3-2) earned the win in relief, allowing just a single hit across 2.2 innings while striking out four.
