DAHLONEGA - Jake Howard went 2-for-3 as the No. 22 University of North Georgia baseball team pushed past Anderson, 5-1, Tuesday evening from Bob Stein Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park.
Howard got things started in the second inning when he singled to center, plating
Bill LeRoy to give UNG a 1-0 lead. After
Andres Perez homered in the fourth inning to double the UNG lead, the shortstop sent another ball over the outfield fence in the frame on a two-run blast to put the Nighthawks up, 4-0.
Anderson pushed a run across in the seventh on a wild pitch, but the Nighthawks got it back in the eighth on a Trojan error to get to the final score.
