DAHLONEGA – The University of North Georgia Student-Athlete Advisory Committee's sixth annual Nigel's Walk/Run With Superheroes will continue as a virtual event and is scheduled for April 18-26, 2021.
In the spirit of social distancing, participants of this year's event are again asked to assist with our effort by either signing up online and walking or giving a general donation towards our goal.
HOW TO REGISTER & PARTICIPATE:
Step #1: Head to
UNGAthletics.com/NIGELSVIRTUALWALK to register. The price is $15 per participant.
Step #2: Exercise one kilometer anytime during the week of Sunday, April 18 through Saturday, April 24
Step #3: Send a photo or video message of your walk and costume on social media to Nigel's Facebook or Twitter account (@UNGNighthawk) or UNG Athletics' Instagram account (@UNG_Nighthawk) using the hashtag #NigelsVirtualWalk.
UNG Athletics will share all participants' photos and a costume contest winner will be chosen. Also, all participants will receive their t-shirt through the mail or via on-campus pick up at a later date.
Since 2013, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has hosted nine Wish reveals and raised over $208,000 for Make-A-Wish, having raised at least $10,000 in every year since 2010-2011, meaning more than 20 wishes have been granted from the efforts of the Nighthawk Nation.
North Georgia has finished in the top five in NCAA Division II Make-A-Wish giving for nine years in a row and led the country on seven occasions. The Nighthawks have hit the five-digit mark in giving for 10 straight years.
