No. 5 Lander Wins South Regional Over No. 3 North Georgia, 67-48

DAHLONEGA – No. 5 Lander dominated the second half to give the Bearcats a 67-48 win over No. 3 North Georgia in the NCAA DII South Region championship game inside the UNG Convocation Center.
 
The Nighthawks and Bearcats traded haymakers early on with neither team gaining a significant advantage, but in the second half, Lander outscored North Georgia, 34-20, to earn their spot in Columbus, Ohio, for the Elite Eight.
 
Sutton led UNG with 14 points and was the only Nighthawk in double figures. Passmore led all scorers with 22 points, while Cange recorded her second straight double-double of 18 points and 13 rebounds.
 
The All-Tournament team consisted of Valdosta State's Kwajelin Farrar, Union's Jaelencia Williams, North Georgia's Julianne Sutton and Lander's Makaila Cange and Zamiya Passmore, the latter being named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
