DAHLONEGA - Jake Arnold hit two homers, bringing home two runs each time, as the University of North Georgia baseball team took game one against Augusta Friday night, 10-5.
Andres Perez got UNG on the board in the bottom of the first with a two-run blast, but the Jaguars answered with a run in the second to cut the lead in half. Arnold hit his first homer of the night in the bottom of the second to stretch the Nighthawk lead to 4-1.
After two Jaguar runs in the third and one in the sixth tied the game at 4-4, North Georgia put up six in the bottom of the sixth, two each off a
Will Hardigree RBI single, Arnold's second homer of the night and a
Bill LeRoy double down the right field line. Augusta scored on a solo homer in the eighth to get to the final score.
NOTES
- Friday was the second time Arnold has hit multiple homers in a single game, dating back to May 12, 2018 against Lander in the PBC Tournament. He also went 3-for-4 for his second three hit game of the season.
- Hardigree also went 3-for-4 at the plate, marking his first three hit game of 2021.

Eddie Galatas (2-2) took the win with four innings of relief, striking out five.
Parker Morrison had a no decision after fanning 10 across five innings.
