Baseball Completes Sweep of Augusta With Back-to-Back 7-3 Wins

DAHLONEGA - The University of North Georgia baseball team took care of business Saturday when they finished off a PBC sweep of Augusta at Bob Stein Stadium at Lynn Cottrell Park.

GAME ONE - UNG 7, AU 3
The Nighthawks got on the board right away as Andres Perez had his lone hit of the front half of the twinbill fly out over the center field wall to take a 1-0 lead. After Augusta tied it up in the fourth, UNG used a Jake Howard RBI single down the line in left to plate two runs and take a 3-1 lead.

North Georgia scored two runs in the sixth off bases loaded walks and added another pair in the seventh off a Brady Eeles RBI single and a Nik Levensteins RBI single. The Jaguars hit two solo homers in the eighth to get to the final score.

Pierce Williams (1-0) earned his first collegiate win, going 5.1 innings while allowing just one run off five hits. He struck out four along the way.

GAME TWO - UNG 7, AU 3
The Nighthawks got started in the fourth inning, putting up six runs in the frame. Eeles started things off with a sacrifice fly, followed by a Levensteins RBI single to right. Two batters later, Will Hardigree stepped up and brought home two on a double to right center before Jake Arnold hit his third homer of the weekend to cap the inning.

After the Jags scored two in the fifth off a homer and one in the sixth on a sac fly, the Nighthawks brought home the final run in the sixth on another bases loaded walk.

Cade Heil (4-0) fanned five across six innings to earn the win.
