DAHLONEGA - The University of North Georgia men's basketball team will be in action three times this week, starting with a Monday night matchup with Georgia Southwestern inside the UNG Convocation Center. The Nighthawks will then play Clayton State on the road Wednesday before meeting up with Young Harris Saturday in Dahlonega.
North Georgia is 1-5 on the year after falling at home to Georgia College the last time out despite leading the Bobcats a majority of the contest. The Nighthawks are in the middle of a five-game losing skid after a season opening win over Flagler at home.
Georgia Southwestern comes to Dahlonega at 7-3 after a 79-76 overtime win over USC Aiken on Saturday. The Hurricanes are led by Donte Tatum's 17.6 points per outing.
Clayton State is 0-5 on the year and have not played since January 20, a 16-point loss to GSW. Ricardo Saams, Jr. leads the Lakers with 14.8 points per game.
Young Harris is 4-4 with games against Lander and GSW before Saturday's matchup in Dahlonega. The Mountain Lions defeated UNG earlier this year on the other side of Blood Mountain, 81-60.
All home games will feature complimentary admission into the building at a first come, first serve basis up to a 10% capacity (approximately 300 fans). Nighthawks Athletic Club memberships supporting the student-athlete experience remain available with members at the All-Region and up levels granted guaranteed access to home games with reserved priority seating. Sections will now be reserved for Nighthawks Athletic Club members and guests of student-athletes.
UNG adjusted the seating configuration to adhere to social distancing in the UNG Convocation Center for the 2020-21 season, and Nighthawks Athletic Club members, UNG students and student-athlete guests will have top priority in the process. All spectators will be seated in the upper-level seats; no lower-level or courtside seating will be available this season. Rows and seats are marked with yellow stickers to maintain six feet of separation between attendees, who are not members of the same party. Masks/face coverings are required for entry into the facility and must be worn at all times while inside the arena and during any game. Any individual who does not comply with this policy will be asked to leave the facility.
