Baseball Clinches Series Over Claflin With 14-0 Win

ORANGEBURG, S.C. - Parker Morrison struck out 17 batters in a complete game shutout as the University of North Georgia baseball team defeated Claflin, 14-0, to finish off the three game Peach Belt Conference series.

North Georgia struck first in the third inning when Crews Taylor blasted a two run shot followed closely behind by a three run bomb from Nik Levensteins. The Nighthawks scored five more in the sixth, four of which were unearned runs.

UNG scored the final four in the seventh, scoring on a wild pitch, a Will Hardigree sacrifice fly and a Jake Howard two run homer to bring the game to its final.

NOTES
- Morrison's 17 strikeouts is tied for second all-time in UNG history for a single game, tying Dylan Peppers' game from April 16, 2017, and one behind Steven Bower's performance against Claflin from a year ago. He walked two and gave up three hits across the nine inning performance.

- Howard finished 2-for-3 at the plate, while Bill LeRoy went 2-for-5.

- Levensteins finished the weekend 5-for-12 with four homers, 12 RBI and six runs scored.
