GREENWOOD, S.C. - Lander jumped out to a quick two-goal lead and scored a pair late as well on their way to a Peach Belt Conference quarterfinal win over the University of North Georgia men's soccer team, 4-0, Saturday afternoon.

The Bearcats scored in the eighth minute as Jed Smith took a pass that went from Max Landau to Max McNulty and found the net to give LU the early lead. Three minutes later, McNulty found Jonah Miller for the second goal.

After taking a 2-0 lead into the final 10 minutes of play, Lander took advantage of UNG throwing numbers forward to score goals from Landau and Marco Gueli.

NOTES
- UNG was able to get off just seven shots on the day, three of which were on frame.

- The Nighthawks finish the 2021 season at 6-11-1 after earning a spot in the PBC Tournament for a 10th time in 11 seasons.

- Lander advances to take on Clayton State in the semifinals of the tournament next week in Evans.
