AIKEN, S.C. - Three goals in the first 15 minutes of play was more than enough to give the University of North Georgia men's soccer team a win over USC Aiken by a 3-1 score Wednesday afternoon.
North Georgia scored its first goal in the fourth minute as
Victor Galterio led a breakaway, finding
Gabriel Campora for an easy goal to put UNG up, 1-0. In the 10th minute,
Donovan Odier doubled the Nighthawk lead with a penalty kick, and four minutes later, Odier's took a shot that was rebounded and finished by
Joel Copes.
The Pacers scored their lone goal in the 33rd minute off of a free kick.
NOTES
- Odier's penalty kick was the first attempted of his career.
- North Georgia attempted 19 shots on the day, eight of which were on target.
- The Nighthawks have now won eight straight over USC Aiken.
