MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - The No. 16 University of North Georgia women's basketball team started on an 18-0 run on their way to a 64-48 win over Georgia College Sunday afternoon inside the Centennial Center.
The Nighthawks went the first 8:04 without surrendering a point, scoring the first 18 of the game. UNG held the Bobcats without a field goal for the first 11:38 with GC only hitting four free throws in the first quarter before a Keyonna Wesley layup with 8:22 left in the second quarter.
Georgia College cut the lead to as few as eight with 3:50 left in the game, but the Nighthawks weathered the comeback attempt to capture the regular season sweep over the in-state rival Bobcats.
