Baseball Wins Midweek Matchup With Warriors, 14-6

DAHLONEGA - Offense was the story as the University of North Georgia baseball team put up 14 runs in a midweek showdown with Southern Wesleyan, beating the Warriors, 14-6, Tuesday afternoon at Bob Stein Stadium at Cottrell Park.

North Georgia got on the board in the bottom of the first on a Jake Arnold RBI single and then plated four in the second, highlighted by solo homers from Will Hardigree and Bill LeRoy. The Warriors answered with six runs in the third, aided by two errors, a wild pitch and a two-run blast to cap the inning and put SWU up, 6-5.

The Nighthawks responded in the bottom of the frame with back-to-back-to-back singles to tie the game and then push ahead on a RBI groundout and a sacrifice fly. UNG would go on to score four in the fifth, highlighted by a Tim Conway two-run bomb, and two in the sixth to get to the final score.
