DAHLONEGA - Abby Hubert surpassed the 1,000 career point mark as the No. 17 University of North Georgia women's basketball team bounced back with a 74-56 win over Georgia Southwestern Wednesday night.
GSW held the first leads of the contest at 2-0 and 4-2, but UNG went on a quick 6-0 run to take the lead for good. The Nighthawks quickly built up a 10-point lead late in the first quarter and got the lead back to double digits early in the second quarter.
The Hurricanes did not go quietly, cutting the lead down to as few as nine twice in the third quarter, but UNG answered each time, stretching the lead back to double digits each time.
NOTES
- Hubert eclipsed the milestone with her sixth point of the night. She finished the game with 11. Scoring 72 points at UNG, her previous 933 came from her two years at Cleveland State Community College.

Julianne Sutton led all scorers with 24 points, while
Abbie Franklin added 10.
- North Georgia shot 9-for-16 from beyond the arc, while GSW was 7-for-28.
