MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. - A 15-4 third quarter was the major difference as the No. 13 University of North Georgia women's basketball team stifled Georgia College Saturday, 59-43.
North Georgia jumped out to a 16-9 lead after one quarter of play and held on to that seven point lead headed into halftime. The Nighthawk defense showed up in the third quarter, holding the Bobcats scoreless for over seven minutes in the middle of the third period.
Despite the big quarter for North Georgia in the third, Georgia College fought until the end, outscoring UNG by two points in the fourth quarter.

Kyra Davis led the way for North Georgia with 12 points each.
Abbie Franklin had 11, while
Kara Groover finished two points shy of another double-double with eight points and 10 boards.
- UNG held GC to just 28.6 percent shooting, including 5-for-19 from beyond the arc.
- The Nighthawks outscored the Bobcats in the paint, 34-12.
