AIKEN, S.C. - The No. 11 University of North Georgia women's basketball team shot just 24.5 percent from the floor as USC Aiken pulled off an upset, defeating the Nighthawks, 55-51, Saturday afternoon.
North Georgia went ice cold shooting in the second and third quarters, scoring just nine points in each period. The Pacer defense was strong throughout the full 40 minutes, giving up just eight points in the paint in the game.
UNG had chances down the stretch, including cutting the lead down to two in the final minute, but USCA hit their free throws to keep the lead until the final horn.
