BELMONT, N.C. - For the third straight year, the University of North Georgia women's tennis team will bring home a ITA Southeast Regional championship as
Vaishali Jorge and Claudelle Labonte Frey claimed doubles supremacy Saturday morning.
The duo becomes the second Nighthawk team to bring home the doubles crown, joining the tandem of Felicia Baratta and
Holly Bennett in 2018. Jorge won the singles crown in the 2019 regional.
Jorge and Labonte Frey easily dispatched the top seeded team of Anika Nissen and Eden Schlagenhauf from Flagler, 8-2, to win the championship match. The second Nighthawk duo of Rafaella Villanueva and
Cibeles Zuddy played for the consolation draw championship as well but fell to Flagler's Paloma Martinez and Alessandra Traub, 6-2.
North Georgia will return to the courts on October 24-25 at the Brenau Fall Invitational in Gainesville, Georgia.
