Men's Tennis Defeats Emmanuel and Piedmont in UNG Tennis Fall Invitational

DAHLONEGA - Hosting the first ever UNG Tennis Fall Invitational, the University of North Georgia men's tennis team took down both Piedmont and Emmanuel Sunday at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek Park.

The Nighthawks gave up just four games in doubles action against Piedmont, winning 6-0 in the Nos. 1 and 2 matches. UNG followed it up with three 6-0, 6-0 matches won by Ryan Gaskin, Daniel Ostap and Zach Waldow on the top three lines.

In the match against Emmanuel, North Georgia again swept the doubles action with a touch more resistance across the board. On the top line, Gaskin and Kevin Candido Magnusson won their match, 6-0, to jump start the match. The other three doubles lines went 6-3, 6-2 and 6-4, respectively, in favor of UNG.

Emmanuel was able to take two of the eight singles matches in three-set tiebreakers. The other six matches were easily won by North Georgia with only two sets across the six matches having the Lions score four or more games.

The fall season for the Nighthawks has concluded. The spring schedule will be released at a later date.
