MONTEVALLO, Ala. - The Universtiy of North Georgia men's soccer team scored seconds after the halftime break, but could not find an equalizer as they fell to Montevallo, 3-2, Saturday afternoon.
The Falcons struck first in the third minute, but North Georgia answered as
Eren Ozer took a pass from
Victor Galterio and found the back of the net in the 16th minute to tie the game.
Montevallo retook the lead six minutes later and then increased their lead to two goals by scoring in the 39th minute, taking a 3-1 lead into halftime.
Donovan Odier scored 21 seconds into the second half off an
Evan Davis assist, but the Nighthawks couldn't break through again.
NOTES
- The Nighthawks had just nine shots in the contest, putting four on target. Montevallo fired 21 shots, eight of which were on target.
- North Georgia had a shot on goal and a corner kick in the final minute of the match, but the Falcons did just enough to hold on.
