CARTERSVILLE, Ga. - Aleah Johnson finished 16th in the 122-runner field as the University of North Georgia cross country team finished third at the Wingfoot XC Classic at Sam Smith Park. The Nighthawks were the top Division II team in the meet, finishing behind two DI institutions.
Johnson clocked an 18:53 5K time to finish at the top of the UNG lineup with
Bree Hammond finishing five spots back at 19:05.
Olivia Henry (24th),
Cheyenne Spinks (25th) and
Elise Glorvigen (27th) rounded out the counting five for the Nighthawks.
South Alabama won the meet, followed by Samford in second. SCAD Savannah finished in fourth place, and King rounded out the top five. King and Tusculum were tied in points, but the Tornado won the tiebreak to finish in fifth place.
North Georgia will next race on Friday, September 27, at the Queen City Invitational.
