FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The University of North Georgia men's soccer team got on the board first, but Emmanuel scored three goals within the final 20 minutes of the first half to take a 3-1 win Wednesday night.
Mateo Mejia was the goal scorer for the Nighthawks when he slotted home a shot in the 16th minute of play to put UNG up, 1-0. From there, it was Emmanuel controlling the match, earning a penalty kick in the 26th minute before scoring their final two goals in the last 90 seconds of the first half.
NOTES
- The Nighthawks outshot the Lions, 27-16, including putting 11 shots on target, but EC's Guiliano Palma made 10 saves to keep UNG off the board.
- Mejia led North Georgia with six shots on the night, three of which were on target.
Donovan Odier also put three shots on target, taking four in total.
