COLUMBUS, Ga. - Columbus State jumped out to a big lead early as the Cougars defeated the No. 24 University of North Georgia baseball team, 18-4, Friday night.
The Cougars took a 7-0 lead after the first inning on the back of three homers and followed that up with seven more runs split between the second and third innings, homering three more times over those two innings.
North Georgia got on the board in the fourth inning, scoring two runs on a RBI double from
Jake Arnold, The Nighthawks scored runs in the seventh and eighth innings on RBI singles from
Nick Clarno and
Bill LeRoy, respectively.

- The Cougars hit eight home runs in the game.
