DAHLONEGA - A seven run seventh inning for No. 6 Tampa was the turning point as the Spartans earned the sweep over the No. 13 University of North Georgia baseball team, 11-5, Saturday afternoon.
The Spartans were the first on the board but then struggled to find an easy look as the Nighthawks buckled down on the defensive end with
Chase Sudduth making a great catch at second base in the second to keep Tampa at bay.
UNG took the lead in the bottom of the fourth, as a Spartan error sent
Brady Eeles across home. With North Georgia up, 3-1, Tampa caught fire in the seventh by putting seven runs on the board, highlighted by a grand slam.
Tampa added three more runs in the ninth, two on a homer, before North Georgia added two of their own in the bottom of the ninth to get to the final score.
