NEWBERRY, S.C. - After earning the doubles point in quick fashion, the No. 10 University of North Georgia women's tennis team went on to defeat Newberry, 6-1, Tuesday afternoon.
North Georgia gave up just three games in the two doubles wins to earn the first point of the afternoon.
The Nighthawks got a quick win from
Adrienne Bofinger at the top singles line and then
Holly Bennett earned a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles to push the lead to 3-0.
After a three-set loss at No. 2 singles,
Cibeles Zuddy,
Lexa Loden and Rafaella Villanueva earned singles wins to clinch the 6-1 win.
The Nighthawks will jump back into Peach Belt Conference play with a Saturday match at Lander.
