DAHLONEGA - For the first time in nearly two months, the No. 10 University of North Georgia women's tennis team lost a match, falling to No. 23 Queens, 5-2, Sunday at the UNG Tennis Complex at Yahoola Creek.
The Royals earned the doubles point, taking the Nos. 1 and 3 matches in quick fashion.
Emma Etelalahti and
Adrienne Bofinger won at No. 2 doubles in a tiebreak, 7-6 (2).
Bofinger won in straight sets at No. 1 singles to tie the match, but Queens quickly won the match, earning the next three singles matches.
Holly Bennett won a three-set marathon at No. 3 singles after falling behind a set, but it was not enough for the Nighthawks to claim the win.
North Georgia will be back in action on Tuesday as they take on Newberry.
