ORLANDO - The University of North Georgia women's team won again at the USTA National Facility Tuesday, as they easily put away Texas-Tyler, 4-0.
Doubles saw a change in lineup as
Emma Etelalahti was moved up to the No. 1 doubles spot to partner
Holly Bennett, leaving
Vaishali Jorge and
Adrienne Bofinger at the No. 2 spot. The change seemed to work as the partnership of Jorge and Bofinger clinched the point with a 6-1 win, following an earlier 6-2 win from Bennett and Etelalahti.
Singles proved to be a walk in the park for UNG; Bofinger got the Nighthawks off to a hot start with a comprehensive 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles. Bofinger has been in fine form this season, winning five of her seven matches coming up to this one and continued to lead the team at No. 1 singles.
A quick 6-2, 6-2 win from
Lexa Loden at No. 6 singles set up Jorge to clinch the match, winning in a third set match tiebreak, 6-2, 5-7, 10-3.
The Nighthawks are back in action tomorrow where they'll visit Florida Southern. The match begins at 3 p.m.
