Game Preview: The University of North Georgia women's basketball team will be on the road again this week for both games, starting with a matchup with Columbus State on Wednesday. UNG will then travel to USC Aiken on Saturday afternoon.

Last Week: North Georgia split its two games last week, falling at Lander after shooting 3-for-22 from the floor before winning against Georgia Southwestern, 89-75, on Homecoming.
Scouting Columbus State: Columbus State is 10-8 on the year as they come off of an overtime win over Clayton State Saturday afternoon. Earlier this season on national TV, the Nighthawks came away with an 82-70 win over the Cougars inside the UNG Convocation Center. UNG is 11-16 against Columbus State all-time but won the meeting in Columbus last season, 78-69.
Scouting USC Aiken: USC Aiken has won two straight to get to 11-9 overall headed into a Wednesday night showdown at home against Francis Marion. The Nighthawks earned a 67-40 win over the Pacers earlier this season in Dahlonega. The Nighthawks hold an 11-9 advantage over the Pacers and have won four of the last five in the series, including three straight. UNG is just 3-6 in Aiken, however, in the all-time series.
PBC Individual Stats: Tamera Thorpe and Amber Skidgel are seventh and eighth, respectively, in the Peach Belt Conference in scoring, averaging 14.8 and 14.2 points per game. Julianne Sutton is fifth in the league in rebounding, pulling down 8.3 boards per contest, and is third in field goal percentage at 54.3 percent from the floor. Skidgel is fourth in the PBC in three-point shooting, averaging 39 percent from downtown.
PBC Team Stats: North Georgia is second in the Peach Belt Conference in scoring at 73.8 points per game. The Nighthawks lead the league in scoring defense, giving up just 60.1 points per game and has the second largest rebounding margin in the conference at 9.2 rebounds.
National Stats: North Georgia is ninth in the nation in blocked shots per game (5.2) and field goal percentage defense (34.6%).
