Baseball Outlasts West Georgia in 14 Innings, 6-3

CARROLLTON, Ga. - After eight consecutive scoreless innings, the University of North Georgia baseball team tacked on three runs in the 14th inning to earn a 6-3 win Wednesday night over West Georgia.

UNG put up two runs in the top of the first on an error from the Wolves and added a third in the next inning on a Crews Taylor RBI single to center that put North Georgia up, 3-0.

The Wolves struck back in the bottom of the second, getting a Joe Skinner homer to left field to cut the lead to two. UWG scored again in the third on a Brady Barnes RBI groundout to make the score 3-2. West Georgia tied the game in the fifth on a Nighthawk error.

It took until the 14th inning before either team scored again. North Georgia got a sacrifice fly from Conner Corbitt to retake the lead, followed by RBI singles from Jake Arnold and Josh Profit to bring the game to its final score.

NOTES
- Kyle Luigs (1-0) earned the win, going six innings of relief and striking out seven. He scattered five hits and hit two batters.

- Profit and Brady Eeles each had two hits on the day.

- The 14 innings was the longest game UNG has played in since a 13-inning game against then-No. 1 Nova Southeastern two years ago. The Nighthawks won 8-7.
