DAHLONEGA - The North Georgia women's golf team will kick off the 2019 portion of the schedule on the road at the Slammer & Squire Golf Course to take part in the World Golf Invitational.

Forecast: The forecast calls mostly sunny skies throughout the tournament with a slight chance for showers on Sunday. Temperatures will be in the mid-60s with slight winds.
A Look at the Field: There are 18 teams playing in the World Golf Invitational, including Columbus State, Embry-Riddle, Flagler, Florida Southern, Illinois-Springfield, Lander, Lee, Mount Olive, North Georgia, Nova Southeastern, Palm Beach Atlantic, Saint Leo, SCAD-Savannah, Shorter, Tampa, West Florida, West Georgia and Young Harris.
Ranking the Field: Of the 18 teams playing the 36-hole tournament, five of them are nationally ranked. The nationally ranked Division II teams are No. 3 Nova Southeastern University; No. 10 Florida Southern College; No. 16 Lee University; No. 23 University of Tampa; and No. 25 Saint Leo University. The NAIA's No. 2-ranked team, Savannah College of Art and Design Savannah, is in the field too.
Last Time Out: Megan Sabol finished in third place individually as the University of North Georgia women's golf team used a final-round score of 300 to jump from a tie for seventh to second place in the final round of the LeeAnn Noble Memorial.
Tournament History: North Georgia finished ninth a year ago in the tournament with
Megan Sabol finishing in a tie for seventh.
Course Facts: The Slammer & Squire course opened to the public in May 1998 and was designed with the help of World Golf Hall of Fame members Sam Snead and Gene Sarazen. In the Jay Jennison Memorial, the course traditionally plays just short of 7,000 yards and as a par 72.
