DAHLONEGA - Julianne Sutton scored a game-high 20 points on 10-of-11 shooting as the No. 14 University of North Georgia women's basketball team took down USC Aiken, 64-53, Sunday evening to open Peach Belt Conference play.
North Georgia trailed just once in the contest after a Melyk Taouil three pointer put USCA up, 3-2, in the opening minute of the contest.
Tija Blackwell answered moments later with a three of her own to retake the lead and kick start an 8-0 run.
The Nighthawks would lead by as many as 24 in the second half before the Pacers clawed back into the game, but the lead never dipped into single figures as UNG earned the conference win.
NOTES
- Sutton's 10-for-11 performance from the floor is good for third all-time in a single game for field goal percentage (.909), tying Kelsey Hutchins's performance from almost three years ago to the date.
