WINGATE, N.C. - Aleah Johnson and
Bree Hammond were each named to the USTFCCCA All-Region Team after top-25 finishes as the University of North Georgia cross country team finished in fifth place in the NCAA Southeast Regional.
Johnson finished in 13th place with a 6K time of 22:52, finishing fourth amongst Peach Belt runners in the race. Hammond ran a 23:06, finishing in 23rd place out of 181 runners.
North Georgia finished with 164 points, two behind Anderson for fourth place. Queens won the meet, running away with the regional championship with a total of 64 points. Flagler finished in second with 100 points, while Wingate finished in third. The Royals, Saints and Bulldogs each earned automatic bids into the NCAA Championships in two weeks.
The NCAA National Committee will meet Monday to select the at-large teams and individuals.
