AIKEN, S.C. - Donovan Odier earned a brace as the University of North Georgia men's soccer team got back on the winning track with a 3-2 win over USC Aiken Saturday evening in the Pacer Pit.
Odier wasted no time getting in the scoring column taking a pass from
Jordan Day and depositing it in the net to put UNG up, 1-0, in the sixth minute. The Pacers responded with two goals in five minutes, starting in the 36th minute and again in the 41st minute to take a 2-1 lead into half.
Odier got back in with his second goal in the 53rd minute, receiving a pass from
Eren Ozer and scoring from 10 yards out to knot the game at 2-2. The winner was scored by
Jack Newhouse in the 70th minute as he headed home a cross from
Andrei Bajura.
NOTES
- Odier scored his second brace of the season, dating back to North Greenville in the second game of the year.
- North Georgia moves into fifth place in the league. The Nighthawks need three points to clinch a spot in the PBC Tournament or some help from teams below.
- Both teams had 10 shots on the game and six shots on target.
