DAHLONEGA - A non-stop affair ended with a draw as the No. 20 University of North Georgia women's soccer team drew with Flagler, 2-2, Saturday afternoon at the UNG Soccer Complex.
Flagler broke through first as Sara Sandberg chipped a shot over
Morgan Ramby's diving attempt to put the Saints up, 1-0. North Georgia answered in the 31st minute, earning a penalty kick that
Taylor Malasek put home in the bottom left corner to tie the game headed into halftime.
The Nighthawks scored first in the second stanza as
Maysoon El-Shami took a failed clearance and got past four Flagler defenders, including the Saint goalie, and scored to push UNG out in front, 2-1. Flagler answered, however, seven minutes later as Josephine Nilsen scored on a tight angle to knot the match back up. From there, neither team was able to find the back of the net despite multiple chances as both Ramby and Sarah-Lisa Dubel kept the 2-2 scoreline through 110 minutes.
