Women's Soccer Upsets No. 18 Limestone On The Road, 3-1

GAFFNEY, S.C. - Three minutes after Limestone tied the game in the first half, freshman Abbie Crane blasted a shot into the net to take the lead for good as the University of North Georgia women's soccer team upset the No. 18 Saints, 3-1, Wednesday afternoon.

The Nighthawks struck first in the 13th minute when Dani Shartouny intercepted a low goal kick and took it herself to goal, taking the early lead. Limestone brought it back to even in the 25th minute on Megan O'Conner's fifth goal of the young season.

Right after the Saint goal, Crane checked in and, three minutes later, found the net off a rebounded shot, giving the Nighthawks a 2-1 lead headed to halftime.

North Georgia found insurance in the 84th minute when Taylor Malasek finished off a counter started by Shartouny to push UNG to their third win of the season.
