GREENWOOD, S.C. - Steven Tomlinson blasted a leadoff homer in the ninth inning to give the University of North Georgia a 3-2 win over Lander Saturday afternoon at Dolny Stadium.
The Nighthawks jumped out to an early 2-0 lead by virtue of solo homers from
Jake Arnold in the second inning and
Conner Corbitt in the fourth.
The Bearcats struck back in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI double by Brice Kirven to cut the Nighthawk lead in half. Lander tied the game up in the seventh on a RBI groundout, setting the stage for the senior Tomlinson's game-winning bomb.

Parker Morrison (4-1) earned the win in relief of
Derrick Pickvet, firing 2.2 innings of one-hit baseball, striking out four along the way. Pickvet surrendered two runs off just four hits.
- Arnold led UNG at the plate, going 3-for-4, while
Chase Sudduth went 2-for-5 at the dish.
