AUGUSTA, Ga. - University of North Georgia women's golfer
Jordyn Sims was named the Peach Belt Conference Golfer of the Week, the league office announced Thursday afternoon.
Sims was the low PBC finisher at the loaded Lady Flames Super Regional Preview in Cleveland, Tennessee. The junior from Berkeley Lake finished in a tie for 22nd with rounds of 77-81-78 for a 236 total. That stands as the fourth-best 54-hole total in UNG school history. Sims' efforts helped the Nighthawks to a ninth-place finish in a field where UNG was the only team not ranked in the WGCA top 25 or receiving votes.
Currently, Sims is tied for seventh in the conference in scoring average.
The Nighthawks will be back in action next Monday and Tuesday at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational, hosted by Catawba.
