DAHLONEGA – University of North Georgia (UNG) women's golfer Ellie Jane Riner has been named the Chick-fil-A Nighthawk of the Week after her historic performance at the 13th Annual LeeAnn Noble Memorial.
Riner etched her name into the UNG women's golf record book with a score of 65 (-7) in the final round of the tournament to secure the program's best 18-hole individual score ever. Her performance helped guide the Nighthawks to a runner-up finish and a 7-under par score in round three for the second-best 18-hole score in team history.
The Havana, Fla. native finished the tournament at 218 (-5) in a tie for third place, marking her third all-tournament performance of the season.
The Nighthawk of the Week title sponsor is Chick-fil-A of Dahlonega, with each week's winner receiving a complimentary combo meal at the Dahlonega restaurant. Located at 488 Morrison Moore Parkway East, Chick-fil-A is proud to give back to the local community and serve as a community partner with UNG Athletics.
Beginning in the fall of 2014, UNG Athletics has honored one student-athlete each Monday morning as the Nighthawk of the Week. The award is selected each Sunday evening by a committee made up of members of the UNG Athletics leadership team.
Riner and the Nighthawks are rounding out the fall portion of the 2026-27 season at the Intercollegiate at Nemacolin in Farmington, Pa. from Monday, Oct. 19 until Wednesday, Oct. 21.
